Story

Hi! My name is Josh, and I am the founder of Dalgoona.

I love Asian food, and I am crazy about Asian snacks.

My family started one of the first Asian-American supermarkets in Colorado over 40 years ago, so I grew up eating all kinds of Asian food.

From snacks to gummies to candies, I sure did get my fill.

As I grew older, my eating habits started to change. I began to eat healthier, and I became conscious of what ingredients were used in the foods I bought.

When I looked for healthier versions of the Asian snacks and foods I used to love, they seemed to be stuck in Neverland.

They didn't grow up like I did and were still made with the same non-nutritious and unhealthy ingredients.

But my taste buds were also stuck in Neverland. They still craved and loved to eat these unhealthy snacks and foods.

I started Dalgoona to help others like myself find Asian products that taste amazing, are convenient, but better for you.

But first...coffee

Our first product is a premium instant coffee mix.

So why a coffee mix?

Coffee, especially instant coffee mixes, is not just a ritual in our family. It’s an opportunity to gather together in a moment of peace and community. No matter how busy we are, we all take a moment to step back, put down our work, and grab a cup of coffee – together.

We love our coffee, and we have something of a sweet tooth. So as much as we love the bold body of a black coffee, we can’t say no to coffee with sweet creamer.

Sadly, coffee mixes or creamers today contain many unhealthy ingredients such as sugar alcohols, artificial sweeteners, hydrogenated oils, and corn syrup.

My family could not say no despite these unhealthy ingredients— even family members who have type 2 diabetes.

Before we got clear on what kind of brand we wanted to be, Dalgoona started because we wanted to create a coffee mix everyone could enjoy!
